I have both species in my planted tank. From my observation, they always keep seperate schools.

From what I've seen, separate schools, although I have a Clown Loach that schools with my Rummy Noses, so... I suppose anything can happen. :)

As long as there are plenty of each, they SHOULD stay in separate schools, but I had a die off of my Rummies, and the remaining few left schooled with the Cards.

In my experience, the cardinals school constantly. The rummynose just don't seem to school. They dart all over the place by themselves.

P.S. To get the eyes really red, condition them with baby brine shrimp for about a week. They'll stay red from that point on.

IME Rummys school great, If they are too comfertable they will not school as well. But with 7 adult discus in the tank my 30 Rumms keep a tight school all the time.
