I wanted to add this pic of my bichirs (dinosaur eels). I love the way they hang together with the largest always being on the bottom of the pile up LOL! These guys eat right out of my hand and always seem to be trying to climb on my hand when I clean the tanks ;) YES, they are in with my discus and no problems between the two kinds of fish :)

Frank!! Where did you get longfin cory cats?! I have never seen those before! That is very cool!

So the dragons are doing much better then.. those are the ones you posted about a while back right, that had the blood in the fins? Or am I thinking of something else?

Amber,
Yes those were the ones and they are doing great now. My discus are getting better to now that my water is normal again :) I got them from a guy on Aquabid. He said he sent me what he believes should become a good breeding colony :)

Marie,
I have 6 longfin albinos and 6 longfin peppers, that's a lot of names ;)

What species are the albinos? Do you keep them in the discus tank?

Willie,
Right now they are in my planted QT tank until I get my 150 up and running. There is one cobalt youngling, one ram, black ghost, two loaches and one albino pleco with them.

That's the first time I've seen something like that Frank(I must be outdated lol)...they look very cool! Kinda like the albino plecos, in a way.

Kenny,
I have only seen them from a seller in Hawaii on Aquabid and I wanted some but because of the time to arrive to CT there was no guarantee from that seller. I finally found one person who had some :) I just think they are really neat and different ;)
Everyday another one has the longfin standing tall. I was told that as they get use to the new tank the fins will be held high :)

My question about the tank was related to the temperature. Can these guys handle 84F - 86F? If so, I wanna get some. I have some albino longfinned plecos and they look very nice in barebottom tanks.

Willie,
Mine are in 86 degree water right now and are thriving :)
They are eating everything in sight LOL. Let me know if you want any and I can check to see if the seller has any left.

Neat cories! Bichers can take discus conditions? How about their temperments? My son's bicher Shadow could use some bigger swimming room but all the bigger tanks are discus tanks ;)

Tina,
Bichirs are air breathers and can tolerate almost any water conditions. I have had them in my tanks since the start. The only problem I have had is the jump out of the tank of the holes on the hood. I put glad press n seal over the holes and have not lost any since.

I got my son's bicher at Petsmart as a baby. They called them "dinosaur eels" They even had albinos once in a while. Mine cost under $5 but it is a very common bicher (but peacefull too if you can't fit in his mouth :)).

Kevin,
Like Tina said, I got them from PetsMart. My store had the at clearance for $4 each. I bought the last 5 but one jumped out and I found him dead on the floor :(
The are called dionsour eels at my store too around $6-7 each! They like colorbits, shrimp pellets, FBWs and live CBWs. Do not keep them with smaller fish as they will disappear quickly. I keep mine in with my discus but not the breeders. They breathe air, like catfish and when they get use to you they will be all over your hands when you are cleaning the tanks and mine love to have their pictures taken LOL!
