My prized 6" redline shark did not take too well to the tank transfer and I just lost him. He's never been moved from that tank since he's been around 2" and even though it was the same type of water and everything it was just too much :(. I had to move him since this tank has to move for the tile people :(. Redlines are notoreous for not handling transportation well and I guess at his size it was not good :(.

Puntius Denisoni take stress better if they are in a school, was this the only one?
I'm sorry for your loss, especially after growing him from 2" inches. I've never been able to find them at this size(or under 4"-5" for that matter), most exporters raise the fish some and them sell it because of the stress, but this ends up bringing the price to around $30 for retail.

He was the only one they had when I got him over a couple of years ago. He did fine in the tank (obviously) and was always an attention getter since he was the biggest anybody had ever seen :(.

I still miss him.

In answer to your question metfan581, when he was younger he was the only one and cost $55, I did some trading and brought him down to 35 and he grew and grew...

$55, $96 Wow, I live in the middle of the Caribbean, just a US territory with really bad shipping, and from two different farms one in Miami and one in Asia and the most we've ever charged for one was $45.99 retail from a batch of 5" -6" fish, way back when they started to appear in the market.
BTW, I know the wholesale price, and unless those stores have some crazy amount of overhead and costs their are probably reaching a minimum of 200% and more on their cost
