Nice work!! Kind of reminds me of a desk more than a stand

Did you build that stand or buy it un-finished? It looks really nice.

I am also wondering where equipment will go or are you using hang-on-back filters and will hide all the cords behind the tank and stand?

Hi,
Yes, I built the stand.
The canister filter will go in one of the pedistals..

It is not quite finished yet, There is a pull out shelf for a laptop to sit on. So that is why it looks like a desk

The 72 Gallon will be my Desktop Aquarium.

The 72 Gallon will be my Desktop Aquarium.

I love it, I only have a 8gal desktop aquarium. You are lucky! But you will never get any work done LOL

Awesome work on the stand!

I have built many desk, kitchens and other custom wood works when I was a carpenter, and I have to say you did a great job.;)

Got a picture of it all together??

I have a 49g bow and am thinking of a similar design but I want it about 8" higher than normal. How sturdy is this design, or could it be modified for a more top-heavy use? Maybe widen the base a little???

Hi,
It has been a long time since I have been on this site posting, so I thought it was about time to post some updates.

Here is a Picture from 12/2007

As far as the tankstand is concerned, it is still solid as a rock ( okay, that might be a bit of an stretch), but there is no noticable flex or wobbliness.

AWESOME screensaver you have there ...LOL. I would have tons of typos being too busy watching the tank. ;)
