Just picked up four F2s wild strains from Joe in S.F. Male and female of each. I have found the Rio Pura listed, but cannot find the SanMerah listed in any of the Wild site lists.

As soon as they get acclimated I will post a picture.

Anyone familar with the SanMerah. Even with the lights out the red body and lack of blue is really stunning.

San Merah isn't a wild. Its a developed strain.

Dan,
I think you have a least one pair, the larger SanMerah and the Rio Pura.
They seem to be pairing off recently, as the SanMerah was already
starting to clean the cone.

Thanx everyone, I will try to post a picture later this week.

Cliff, the smaller San Merah is still a bit shy and is not mingling with the three new fish or the blues and greens already in the tank. I am asumming going from a small holding tank to the 180 will take some time. I am guessing that is the male San Merah?

Hi Dan,
The smallest SanMerah I think was the most red in color, and one of the larger SanMerah was pairing with a smaller Rio Pura(Scribble Red/Royal Blue) I'm not sure if Joe
showed you the Whitebutterfly but it was shaking, cleaning the slate and
ready to lay her eggs. Just a lot of activity going on in the tank, the only
passive Discus was the SnakeSkin. Please keep me posted if you get any frys
from those Discus.

Good Luck with those Discus!

Will do Cliff, had a bit of Murphy's Law incident with a six month old heater blowing the tank's GFI and it was out all day. Came home to an 81 degree tank dark tank so the guys are stressed and still not eating.

You are right the smaller San Merah is the most colorful and the larger one seemed to be mated with the large Rio Pura.

Will see what happens in the next few days.

Photo of the female San Merah. Not sure how to add a second photo or if it is allowed.
