ancistrus question

Ihave an albino ancistrus (bristle nose) catfish. He likes to hide out during the day. If I was to buy another ancistrus that was not an albino, would hestay out and do his job during the day? Thanks for any advice.

Also I would like to note that I am working so diligently on this tank because it is my dream to have and be able to maintain a tank with discus. Here at my lfs they are charging $70. for one fish at the size of 2 1/2 - 3'' body size not including finnage.

Ancistrus, like most catfish, are nocturnal. They do their job at night.

$70 is waaaay too much. My LFS sells them for $10-15 @ 2 inches.

You can get Discus by mail, even including shipping, for less than $70 for excellent 3" if you order 6 or more.

My albino BN only comes out at night.

I have 2 Albino BNs in one tank. They are out and about all the time. I have 1 Albino BN in another tank. That one comes out at night and is very shy. In the LFS where I bought them, some were out in the open all the time while others in the same tank were hiding behind and under rocks. I think its all a personality thing.
