Hi,
Good to see you back online. I was getting worried.

Well I about to start working on building another tank stand. For those of you that remember me from my last tank stand project, I am going to stay with the unconventional design. I have made a computer model and rendering.

The shelf is for the canister filter. I plan on making a curved cover over that area and maybe a small drawer under the top.

Nice...I like the design! A curved door and drawer front would definitely look good. The lamination's would be fairly simple.

What are you going to make it out of? The computer rendering looks like Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry).

Hi,
Thursday: Cleaned up the raw lumber.
Friday: Rough cuts, glue-ups and some final cuts.
Saterday: Sanding and lower assembly.

Here is what it looks like now.

Today I will get the top cut to size, edge routed, sanded and attached. That should not take too long, so then I will start on the shelf.

That is even nicer than the picture...I see you went all out and added a beveled edge on the top...

That is a very creative use of wood, I like your design very much. I especially like the unconvential front legs tied together with the curved stretchers.

Here are some pictures of the completed stand. I never did make a front cover for the filter.
