Hey Guys ~ Seems like at times when I am snapping pics I find something wrong Check out these pictures of P.S., my Purple Spotted Goby ~ the pics are horrible and I apologize for that ~

See the white patch?....on top of his back? My daughter, Amber said it looks like whatever it is ...it is like eating away at the scales? I can not find my glasses to see that close unfortunately~

Any suggestions? Contagious? I can put him into the 40gal as it can be ready on a dime ~

I am worried about him ~ he is eating and acts normal ~

Thanks!

IMO, it looks more like skin abrasion than fungus. Probably just scraped against something. Keep water clean and maybe add some salt.

Does it appear that the patch is getting larger?

I thought that too Reid! Two great minds think alike:) Perhaps bump into the driftwood..... I do not know if it is getting bigger as I just noticed it tonight ~ it is not too often I see the top of him or of his back ~

He is in with my discus ~ I can add some salt still even if they do not need it?

If you're worried about it just keep up with the WCs. When I looked at the pictures again, I'm a little more confident that is an abrasion. You can see slight bruising along the edges of the sore, the edge is darker in color. My discus had a bad body scrape that looked just like that not too long ago. I didn't use salt and just kept up with WCs and it went away in a week. Yeah.. you can probably skip salt and make sure your water is clean.

It looks more like a "gouge" than a scrape to me. It looks deep. But that does look like maybe what happened. He must have hit the driftwood (or something) hard. Keep a real close eye on him! You dont want the infection to get really bad. I think adding the salt is a good idea too.

Looks like a scrape or abrasion to me as well. I see that a lot in my husbands tanks. Usually his catfish, they hide and he has a lot of rock in the tanks...so scrapes are a dime a dozen.
