Really Stupid Question

Has anyone bred wild discus? Would the spawn count as wild type even though they were bred in captivity? I've long had questions about this, since somebody must have bred wild discus somewhere along the way to get domestic ones. Same goes for altums; what makes altum angels altums, and what makes wild discus wild? Do they have to actually be wild, or is it their genetics?

I have a similar question on the board now......

Wilds breed relatively easily in captivity, except for the Heckals, although I hear that greens are a bit harder.

The first spawn would be F1 from wild stock.

The question I have running ( no answers yet ) is what happens when you then breed the babies ? At what stage do they change to domestic ?
