My name is Joe, and l live in Melbourne, Victoria. I would like to assure you all that l will be doing my best to raise these discus to the best of my ability, and l am looking forward to comparing notes with fellow challengers. I am possitive that l am going to learn heaps over a short period of time about this great hobby. This is going to be alot of FUN.
I have set up a purpose built tank to fit on available bench space in my bathroom. It measures 600mm wide X 450mm X 450mm deep, which makes it at 120 litre capacity. Temp' is set at 29 degrees celcius and l am running 2 sponge filters. I am maintaining PH at approx' 6.8
Hope to be recieving the fish some time soon.

Good Morning Renea. I spoke with Darren yesterday, and looks like he is going to ship them out on thursday, for a friday delivery. I am really getting eager now, espesially after reading some of the other threads. I keep logging in enery hour or so while l'm at home. Your fish look good.

The end of the week isn't far it'll come sooner than you think..just think your fish will be a little bit older and stonger to deal with the trip.

I recieved a call from Darren this afternoon at 6pm telling me that the fish are on their way. How exciting!!! I have never recieved any live stock in a parcel before, and after reading about what can go wrong, I rang Australin Air Express and asked then if they could please ring me as soon as they recieve my package.No matter what time eary in the morning l'm off to the airport to greet my new arrivals. Can't wait!:thumbsup:

I can't track my shipment on the internet, as their system is down.It's 5:00am and l just got of the phone with Australian Air Express. Unfortunaltly, they can't even tell me where it is.However they told me that the first plane is due to land from Brisbane at 6:00am. Hopefully they will be on the first flight.I think i'll go back to sleep for another hour.:sleep::sleep:

I'm back. Approx' 8:00am, not bad considering the heavy traffic on the freeway. I was like a little boy opening a christmas preasent from santa,(thanks Darren).Gave Darren a quick ring, and a few photos. The 8 little discus are looking good and being floated in my tank at the moment, giving me some time to enjoy.I will shortly put them all in a bucket and siphon some of my water from my tank to them.HOW EXCITING!!!:D:D:D:D

'Tis the 21st of December, 9:30 am and all is well. Just a quick measurement of the largest discus before he goes into the tank. About 2 1/2 inches or 63mm. Bathroom is now 'OUT OF BOUNDS' till this afternoon. Better go do some work now, i've more hungry mouths to feed.:D
