Well I am definitely stoked for tomorrow's arrival. I have a 40gal setup BB in my "fish space" in the garage.

Temp is set at 87.4
pH currently 7.65

I had pulled a "seeded" sponge out of my 125gal Discus tank three days ago and setup the 40 for this challenge. I PP'd the tank at 2ppm with the sponge to kill off any possible nasties. I added ammonia to this tank to keep the sponge seeded. Well, after three days of running, apparently I killed off all the nitrobacter as well. So I will be starting this challenge unfortunately with a "new" tank.

I honestly don't foresee a problem since I'll be doing daily waterchanges of 50-100%. I will definitely be taking my readings on a daily basis to make sure that no NH3, NO2, NO3 show up.

I have only been keeping Discus since April 1st of this year and none this small to boot. This will definitely guage how much Info I've been able to soak up from Simply and Andrew/Angela.

Wish me luck and good luck to all the Contestants.

Here's a shot of their new home waiting:

Jose, better bring the temp down, probaly the bags will be colder when they arive, makes the jump from the bag to the tank not to big. If the Discus are in the tank let your heater slowly warm the water again, just an idea.

When I get a shipment in we do a waterchange with "cold" water to bring the temp down, over night with the new Discus in the tanks the temp. will go to the normal,

Hans
