All 3 fish seem to be doing well but as to be expected are still feeling a little vulnerable..as there are the 3 its to be expected, Ive added a small amazon sword for extra security.I went away for 3 days over xmas and used an automatic feeder so they could still eat 5x daily and came home to happy little fish.
prior to being away I was doing 50% wc daily and a 90% wc when I got home.
temp is being kept at 29.
ph is high 7s

I've been trying to introduce bh but they aren't liking it...so am feeding them bw,bs and flakes.

Nic ~ try to feed bh when they are the most hungry, like in the morning ~ might help:)

That's what I'm doin' and they've taken to it quite well. Even Rudy who can be somewhat shy around the other three crosses the others' lines to get some. Just a bit of advice; try taken shots with the camera at an angle to the tank. That way you don't get that big sunburst from the flash in the picture. :)

Hi Renea. How's it all going over there? And how are they taking to bh? Mine don't like it that much either. They love their fbw and fbs though.Hope all is well.

Hi Nicole,

Increase the water temperature is little higher by 2 degrees and your stated temperature of 29 degrees is a little cold for those juveniles discus. Higher temperature will increase their metabolism and will increase their appetite.
Good luck to those discus.

Cheers
Francis

I'm sooo happy this morning..they came up to the front of the glass for a look :) they all look alot more relaxed and not hiding at the back of the tank as much.
Joe mine aren't eating bh either..but I'm really not too worried about feeding it to them, they eat everything else I offer them.
Francis thanks for the advice..the weather here is so hot at the moment been having 40+ degrees looking at 45 today..I've turned the heater down and the tank is sitting on 30..can't help but think maybe the rise in water temp has helped these little guys along.

Just thought I would try and post some better pics..I added one of my yellows to the tank to try and even things out a bit as one was allways hiding on its own and not getting out as much..anyway its seems to have helped, all the of the little guys have been out swimming around together ever since.
The one that I've added is my smallest and could do with the extra feedings and care so it will benefit him as well.
pics taken today 6.1.08.
