Hi,
I found my big beautiful breeding female dead in the tank last night. I don't understand it she appeared to be in perfect health with no physical damage. She looked like she might have been in the process of spawning. The only changes to the tank recently was that I did a large plant pruning. She was in my 72 gallon planted a aquarium with four other adults.

It makes me want to cry, I was just about to move her to her breeding tank.

Hi,
Thanks.

Now I have to rethink what I am giong to do wth some of the others. One for shure is going to a local fish store, maybe two. Then the tank will have room for new come'rs.

Hi, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I too just recently lost my biggest and best looking adult LSS. But the one thing I have found out about keeping Discus for the last 20+ years, is that at times, a fish for no apparent reason will just die unexpectedly. It happens to ALL living things. Not necessarily anything you did, it was just her time. Many hobbyist upon seeing something like that start bombarding the tank and Discus with meds, when in all actuallity, the fish probally just had a sudden heart-attack. Bill
