hi i have purchased a discus 2 weeks ago he is very active healthy fish with nice red eye ring but never see him eating
read somewhere that they only pick on live food
forgot the heckel is together with other wilds like barra mansa and curipera discus witch are all eating great

forgot to add i feed hikari discus pellets , flakefood mysis and frozen bloodworm and frozen veg
and others dry foods

Hi Gerald,
I keep many heckels here and they really should not pose any greater difficulty in getting them to eat if they are healthy. They should readily take Frozen blood worms and Brine Shrimp... and will take to pellets well, IME.

The wilds you have may be intimidating the new heckel. If you can separate it, you will better see how it eats, and can treat as necessary for any parasites.... deworming wilds is something I do when I first get them..

thanx for youre advise i dont have a second tank atm
but could it be as he has only been in my care for 2 weeks that it is still adjusing i had some adult red turks pair once that didnt eat for 2 months and then suddenly where feeding
