I use EI dosing, which uses pretty high quantities, but I keep my NO3 at 20 ppm, just to be safe. At these levels, my discus show no unusual signs of stress. This is in a 180 with 8 ADULT discus; I have no idea what juveniles can stand.

I think it is safe to say if the plants are utilizing the ferts at a constant rate it is likely fine for discus whether they are young or adults.
