View Full Version : All that i need to keep them healthy

What can i do besides feeding them right and keeping the ph at neutral and other chemicals at its lowest? any vitamins? lol i dont know

marzlam791, I personally don't worry about the PH. My PH stays steady and my fish seem to really like it. Its about 7.8. Keep them well fed, lots of water changes, wipe the glass frequently, keep the temp stable and you shouldn't have any problems. Best of luck.

Clean water and temps around 85F. Most processed fish foods these days have the required vitamins. Just vary their diet with frozen, flake, pellet and live foods. Just keep a clean environment and your fish should be happy and healthy.

Oh alright thanks guys. oh i needed to know about the ph i try to get it downo but mine stays between 7.4 and 7.8 and thats aged water.. even though i do have my own well and the ph in that is 7.8 so i guess ill just poor straight in. i live in orlando fl if that makes a diffrence on tap water.

Your pH is fine to keep discus and you should do just fine with straight well water.

As long as there is no significant swings in the pH, you will be fine.


If you haven't done so already:

run some tap water into a container and agitate it with an airstone overnight. Check the pH immediately and then the next day to make sure its stable.

Thanks guys thats what ive done ive done checks on the tap water and is 7.8
