Its been 8 weeks since recieving my discus and all is well.:)
I remember when l first put them in my tank they could easily disapear out of sight behind the filter. This is defenetly not the case now. As a group they can easily make the filter disapear.
My largest fish is coming close to being 4" now, and l have noticed them 'bulking up'.
I really wish that l could transfer them to a much larger tank than the 120 litre (approx 30 Gal) tank that they are in now.:(
50 - 70% water changes are maintained on a daily basis, and I wipe it down nearly every day.
I try to feed them live brine shrimp and live black worms daily, with plenty of FBW, FBS, put in and instantly disappearing. The 'Auto' feeder maintains feeds of Tetra Bits or Spectrum pellets 3 times per day, and occasional flakes fed as well. I don't like giving them flakes as they tend to mess up the water quite a bit. First thing in the morning, and before their water change in the afternoons they recieve one or two blocks of FBH.
I have not noticed any squabbling between these guys, they all seem to get on well together.
I think they are getting a little lazy though 'cause they just sit a around and rest on the bottom of the tank on their full bellies.
The first photo l have attached is of them 3 days after arriving. I think you will notice the big differance.
Sorry for the long report, but l'm still grinning.:D:D:D
