It will be twelve weeks tomorrow from when l recieved my challenge fish.:D
As you know l have had a few dramas recenlty which has resulted in the lose of 3 fish.:(
I am convinced that the water parametres are all good, and I am at a lose to what went wrong:confused:
So, with 1 fish in the challenge tank, and his 4 remaining buddies in the other planted tank, l decided to transfer 3 of them back with him yesterday. Boy, trying to catch them out of the planted tank was a challenge within itself.
Anyways....As I move forward, l watched them eat 1/2 a cube of FBH, and then later 1/2 a cube of FBW this morning.
The 'Lone Ranger' as he was named, is no longer on his own, and l find him getting better, and having a nibble at the offerings. He still seeks refuge behing the filter, and is still dark, with some colour showing through.
I feel like l am starting over, and only offering them small feeds at a time, and look forward to them getting HUGE.
I think l will keep the 1 remaining challenge fish in the planted tank with his new buddies, as a comparason. It will be interesting to see how he goes.:D:D:D

Man, "lone ranger" looks like he's been put in timeout. :) I hope whatever took out your last three doesn't rear its ugly head again. Keep us posted as I know you will ;)

Hi there Vera! Hope all is well in Malta.:)
The three newcomers in the challenge tank came up to greet me this morning for some food. The lone ranger still seeking refuge behind the filter, but is eating. Hope he joins the rest of the group soon.:D

Glad to hear all has settled down, and there were no more losses.
I do hope you continue the "planted vs. bare" bottom mix. It will be an interesting comparison. It sure looks as if these challenge fish are going to grow really well, no matter their conditions though !:D
Hopefully The Lone Ranger will come around too.

Thanks for your comments B, but l am sorry to report that the lone ranger did not make it.:(
I found him dead this morning with what seemed like a nasty bruise on his forehead...must have knocked himself out on one of his thrashing sessions.
Fortunatley the other 3 discus in there are not displaying this behavior, thank goodness.
With only 4 challenge fish remaining now, l hope my luck will change.:)
