I found this steel stand at Home Depot for only $125. Minor modifications to enhance shelve strength and to allow full bearing for the 40 gal tanks were made. Each tank has a single 10,000K T-5, 36-inch fixture. I use two sponge filters; one air driven and the other by a MaxiJet 600 power head. The stand occupies a 72-1/2 inch X 18-1/2 inch foot print. The weight of the tanks comes to about 1000#'s less than the rated capacity of the stand.
Overview of stand and tanks.

Thank you, Alan.
I am using about a liter of RedSea FloraGro plant substrate in each of the 40 gal.s. Just enough to conceal most of the bare bottoms. I use it as my potted plant mix, too.
I seem to have better success breeding Plecos, Corydoras, SA Dwarf Cichlids, Cherry Shrimp and Sturisoma in tanks with a little substrate. There is so little used that cleaning these tanks is as easy a bare bottoms.
Discus also spend hours picking through the substrate for bits of food. I keep it very thin so none of the live black worms can escape for long.

Nice Larry, your setup looks great. Are those clown plecos in that picture?
