Another filter media question...

I have a 55 gallon planted tank with a fluval 303 as the only filter. I'm just curious as to what those of you that have more experience than I do think of my filtering set-up. The first chamber has the old ceramic noodles. The second chamber house two foam discs. The final chamber has phos-guard on the bottom and 'bio-max" on top of that. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I used to use Fluvals but not anymore. They get nasty quickly and are a pain to maintain.

These days I just use sponge filters and HOB power filters with sponges and noodles.
