i will recive my new discus in couple days now but ph is 6...do i have to increase

120 gal fluval fx5 press co2 with inline reactor
i have some peat nuggets from weiss (they say replicate black water)
2 big malaezian and1 big mopani driftwood
lots of swords and anubias
83 f temp
0 nitrite amonia and nitrate

8 cory 3 bristlenose and about 10 3" discus
should i take the peat out to get the ph at 6.4-6.6?

I wouldn't worry about it until the new discus come out of QT. If the QT ph is close to the 120gal there should be no problems.

Sorry m8 thought you meant you already had 10 3" discus in the tank. I would certainly remove the peat to get the ph closer to the tanks they are coming from. Adding CO2 should keep the PH low enough w/out the peat.

If you really want to grow those guys out to big boys I would look at setting up a 55gal BB tank. I did the planted grow-out with my first discus and then 55gal BB with the next 2 batches and the difference is a huge 2-3inches easy on average. Even with a vigorous WC schedule on my 110gal and heavy feedings the BB will get you much better results.
