Hey guys, I've had discus now for a couple of months and love the guys. I had 7 until a disease came in and left my tank in shambles. 6 survived however and since things have become stable with their health. I have a 75 gallon non planted tank. Here's my question.. since getting over the sickness the alpha male and other discus have been REALLY aggressive towards one another. I really want this to die down just don't know how. The alpha male especially harasses almost everyone. There are plenty of hiding spots in the tank and its usually where the bullied goes. (the bullying gets spread around though) Any ideas how I can fix things or at least settle them down.

This is typical discus behavior.

Mine do the same thing. Funny thing is, the alpha is a smaller pidgeon blood. There are 2 larger discus but the PB seems to be the most agressive. Things are usually peaceful except during feeding. To make sure everyone gets their fair share of FBWs I use 2 worm cones on both ends of the tank...your discus are probably still developing their pecking order. Things should calm down eventually. :)

All discus do this to a point, you have to remember that these are cichlids and all cichlids are territorial as they get older.

Yeah, It's when they stop chasing around is when you have to worry. I have found also if the water temp is high, they become very active, I keep my tanks no higher than 86, mostly at 84.
