Wow, i had a big ooppps! I had my son come over, dang i don't even no what day it was. It had to be almost a wk. He came over to look @ my light because one side wouldn't work, so i asked him to come and check it out. My discus in the 75 gal were w/o heat for that long. I couldn't figure out what was wrong w/these guys. They were real skittish, couldn't go near the tank w/o them spazing out. Wouldn't eat, and color was a little darker than normal. I was baffled. Went to do my wkly w/c and come to find out my in line heater was unplugged. Temp @ 68.4. Like i said, don't no how long they didn't have heat but cleaned and added warm water. They r swimming now, acting pretty normal. Will see what time brings. I was thinking of adding salt. Is there anything i can do to ease the stress of this problelm?

Just let then become adjusted to the temps slowly getting back to normal and they should bounce back pretty quickly. With their immune systems already a little bit on the weak side from this I wouldn't put them through anything else right now.

Shouldn't have any problem if your Discus are healthy, just plug the power back on.

Hi Eileen,
If you did not lose any fish it is not a disaster, its a learning experience. You were actually fortunate because this was very close to the line and could easily turned into a wipe out of all your fish. Count your blessings as you no doubt have read how bad things can get.
