I sometimes wish people would use the chat room more. Such a good place to get q&a, or just chat. Maybe we can start a " use the darn chat room " campaign of some sort. I personally would love it.

The best thing to do is set a certain time frame on certain days to go to the chat, that way people will know before hand that people will be there.

One thing we do on our local forum is that we have one thread going that you post on "in chat now" or something along those lines to let people know. Our chat used to be super dead until we started doing that, and now you can guarantee to find at least 6 folks there nightly after 930pm. Just start up a "in chat now" thread that folks can continually use to let everyone else know when chat's occupied.

Like Scott mentioned...Usually you have to pre-plan chats. I have seen numerous times that someone posts in the Communitiy wanting to chat, but by the time anyone finds the post, its to late.

sounds like a good plan :D and i was hoping for the experts, sponsers, or someone thats been here for quite sometime to be in the chat rooms too...people tend to get discourage when all they see is my name and not someone like kenny's or mike's lol jk:D

Kenny and others like him, probably get their ears chatted off, in e-mails and phone calls. The rest of the time they are doing water changes !!!!:D
They probably never have time to be in the chat room ! For the breeders and importers here - once you have that many tanks and that many Discus, it's a full time job !
But don't think your name or anybody else's name is "discouraging", everybody here loves a good chat over Discus !
How can that go wrong ????

Probrobly no one goes in there because people are affraid someone boring from forum going be in chat and its going feel awkward getting real time chat instead time delayed posting and replies..i suggest a few drinks before and during chat to liven things up..lol
