I figured I'd update with a video since their move to the 8' 100gal tank. I think they're liking the bigger tank and more swimming room. They seem less jumpy when I'm in their tank. I gave them their first feed of live daphnia last night, and at first they didn't know what to make of the jumping little water fleas. However, once they figured out, "hey, these are edible" they made short work of them. Since the move to the bigger tank, I'm doing one water change/day of anywhere between 50-75%. They still eat 4 autofeeds of either color bits or omega one marine pellets and I supplement with FBS, FBW, BS. I also feed red wrigglers occasionally and will start feeding daphnia supplementally.

Hi Jose! They r looking happpppyyyyyy;) I am gonna get my 150gal w/sump up and running hopefully by next weekend. I want them in there. They don't seem too happy but i am working on this tank. Should get my pump today and my son will be coming over to help me. Can't wait. How do u get live daphnia? Did u send for it? I think they r bored w/their diet. Please, do tell..:o

Hey, Lisa and Eileen, I've only started them on the daphnia last night. The amount I feed will be dependent on how my culture thrives. I would like to try one feeding of daphnia a day but I honestly don't know how much daphnia I do have. Their tank is very green. I'm thinking of setting up gallon jugs of green water so I can reclaim my 29gal tank as a breeder tank. ;)

I got the culture from a fellow club member locally, Eileen, but yes you can order a starter culture as well. You want to get some green water going before hand and have it ready. I didn't mean to get green water but it was a tank I had previously running for my cardinals before I moved them all to the 125 in the house, and I just left it running. The algae just took off as did the skeeters :D. I actually harvest the mosquito larva for some angel growouts I have going as well.
