Rich, is that a san merah on your avatar. Gorgeous looking fish, as for the shipment they are in my tanks acclimating. My first time getting fish direct from Wayne, and let me tell you after how nice this batch is, it won't be the last. You'll also get to see what Waynes' competition grade adults look like, will knock you off your socks!

Jason, I know exactly where you are. I loved New Dorp, I lived on Manila Place. Would still be there if my house didn't get flooded all the time, once a builder blocked drainage on the street. Those good ole' builders, LOL!!! My step son still lives on the island, I think he's in Great Kills, so we still come down there for visits.

i hear ya Connie LOL, I moved off of the island in 94', but we have lots of family and friends there, so we visit SI pretty often. its been a while for me tho. everytime I go back it just gets more and more crowded down there, I dont even understand how they fit all that on the island lol.

poconogal
06-17-2009, 01:30 PM
Jason, last time I was on the island was a year ago, helping to clean out my late mother-in-law's home. I don't visit much now, its gotten too crowded for me too, esp in the 11 years I'm gone from there. One day it will sink because they built too much!

You may not be able to PM until you have a minimum number of posts. Usually you just need to click on the users name.

The Tropical Fish Club of Erie County meets the third tuesday of every month.
There is more information on the club's website (http://tropical-fish-club-of-erie-county.com/home/).

If you want more information, feel free to ask.

I still have no luck finding any beef heart in Queens.

I'm new to discus keeping and recently came across something that has me concerned. Comment#15 in the thread below mentions how micro-bubbles could eat away the slime coat of the discus causing death if the water is not aged.
http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?112560-Do-I-have-to-age-tap-water

Since water parameters are different based on location I thought it was best to put this question here.

Does anyone find that it is necessary to age the water before filling the tanks living near the NYC area? I'm currently just putting straight tap water into my tank with de-chlorinators.
If someone could share their experience on this matter that would be great. Thanks
