I'm headed to KY Lake upstream from several of you..This year's voyaging will likely bring our ship to Nashville for tours,so...I may hunt some of you up for a 'social call'....Gary

Kraig:

My wife's grandmother lives in Harrodsburg. The next time we come visit, i would love to drop in for a tour and talk fish with you for a bit.

I will be attending NADA in Atlanta as well, mabey we could touch base there. My mother lives in ATL, so I am dropping off my two girls with her while I check out some discus. Win win I would say.

I live in Hopkinsville, KY. It's about an hour and 15 minutes from Nashville. I have not kept or bred discus in over 15 years. I had a little hatchery in Westford, MA called Apple Valley Discus and moved it to KY in 1993 when we relocated for my main job. There was little interest in tropical fish here at the time.

I hope this is the right place to post, if not please move it!

I've been frustrated by the lack of freshwater club here, and I'm thinking of doing something about it instead of just complaining. This is just an idea, but would anyone here be interested? Not sure if a general freshwater or a cichlid club would be best. I'm going to do some research to see what it entails. I'm unfortunately in between jobs atm, so now will be the time I have the most time to devote to it. Any input from current club participants on the process is welcome too :)

Hi All,

I am about as far west in Tennessee as you can get but would be interested in participating if something can be worked out for meetings mid-state. Nashville sounds like a logical site....3-3 1/2 Hours from everywhere:)....Ned

Hello all. I'm about 60-90 minutes northeast of Nashville in Lafayette, TN.

I'm just getting back into caring for fish after a 17 year hiatus. My wife previously kept discus in the late 1990's, but I'm only experienced in oscars from the cichlid families.

We're getting our 55 gallon community tank transitioned from an Emperor 400 to an Eheim 2236 & stable, with the hope to have discus by new years.

Welcome Taz,

Looks like we are getting the entire state at least sparsely represented. There has got to be more of us out there.

After a long hiatus, we are slowly getting back to it. Anyone from the eastern third on here and active? We're looking to setup a discus tank again soon and would love to find local breeders.
