Best CO2 Tank Setup?

Hello Peoples,

I dont post often but I am finally taking the plunge from DIY Co2 to the full on Co2 tank/regulator/diffuser etc. and wanted to tap the vast knowledge of Simpy Discus members.

I am not so much concerned about budget and I am looking for recommendation on setups and specific gear recommendations. Especially what not to do or buy!

Been a member of Simply for many years and currently have a 65 gallon planted tank. I run a cannister filter and inline heater module. I have DIY lighting setup which I will be replacing as well.

Please let me know if there is any other details about the tank you need me to post.

You can find C02 regulators anywhere! Aquabid or ebay is a good place to find them as well. You can usually find that the c02 bottle comes with the sale with these guys.

IMO Milwaukee makes the best.

I have that regulator and it's outstanding! It replaced my Milwaukee that went belly up.

I do not have direct experience with them, but by reputation Rex Grigg (http://www.bestaquariumregulator.com/CO2.html) puts together some of the best CO2 rigs out there. I'm sure you would not go wrong with one of his either. This is one place where going cheap can, and often will, come back and bit you.

So get a good one.

Yeah, the aquariumplants.com and Rex Grigg's regulator are pretty much the same thing. Someone recently on another forum was saying that Rex had said they copied his regulator. I don't know about that, but you couldn't go wrong with either unit. Another outstanding regulator is one called Sumo. Check it out at sumoregulator.com . Not knocking Milwaukee, but any of these regs have the reputation of being much higher quality.

I normally have nothing to say, so here's my 2 cents. Rex built my C02 set up, asked the specs I was looking for and then shared alot of knowledge. I agree you should definitely not try to save cash, only to pay it out in the end. I did.:mad: Good luck either way you go.
