In my last report l mentioned that two of the other discus in the community tank had paired up and laid eggs on one of the leaves. Well they're at it again with a second batch of eggs.....but wait, there's more! l now have a second pair of discus that have also decided to lay eggs at the other end of the tank.
The remaining 3 discus, 2 of which are the challenge discus are being chased form one end of the tank to the other, and when not fighting back resort to taking shelter behind the large root l have in there.
I have notice that the blue and red in the challenge fish is really starting to brighten up now, and they are looking in better condition than ever, also lots more growth in the last couple of weeks too.
This is very hard to show you through my poor quality video though.

The discus that have paired up are only a couple of months older than my challenge fish......I wonder lf l can get one of them to pair up and have eggs before this challenge is over.:)

Just waiting to see if l can produce wigglers before l may decide to put a pair in a breeding tank.
In the meantime check out the small video clip of the discus tank. Sorry about the poor quality.

I really don't think that the other discus are good enough quality to breed though...please tell me what you think.:D

Thanks Jose. I am really happy with the way the remaining two challenge fish are turning out. I sure can see that they are much better quality fish than all the others.

Hi Joe,

I love your tank and your discus are looking great. I wish i had the time to maintain a nice planted tank like yours.

I've seen a little bit of shaking with my challenge discus, but no eggs yet.

Hi Joe:wave: Wow, u have some nice fish going there. The quality is what u want it to be. If they have wiggs and make it to adults, they will be quality and if ur happy, than thats all that counts right????:o
Good luck bud...

Thanks guys!
I'm real happy with the way they are turning out. My favorite discus is the challenge fish that looks like a wild. It's the one that has the forked stress bar on one side. I particularly like the red fringe it is diplaying around its perimiter.
I don't know how many pictures l've taken of it to show you all...but they don't show it at all. I'll get lucky one day and post it for all to see.
The discus are really enjoying their daily dose off live black worms too.
Thanks again for the feed back.:D:D:D

:D:D:D.Yeh thanks Mark!
Its not the challenge fish that have spawned, but they are getting a good look at how it's done, and hopefully one of them will have a go soon.
As far as being the first contestant......let's just say that I hope the others come back with a report soon. I'd like to see how everyone elses fish are going.
Hope to get some update photos posted soon!

Looking good Joe. Lots of activity like that is always a good thing. :D When your fish are acting like that and spawning in the community tank all the time, they are happy. Great job!

Outstanding video footage. Congratulations on the eggs. I know the first time I saw eggs I was elated! Well done. Beautiful fish by the way.
