How much lighting would I need for a 58+G discus tank? I am thinking floating plants and plants attached to wood.

Low output T-5 should do the job.

I would use 1 colormax bulb and 1 daymax 67k Combo

If you are going to have something floating like water sprite (Ceratopteris (http://www.tropica.com/productcard_1.asp?id=005A)) and some low light plants like Anubias (http://www.tropica.com/productcard_1.asp?id=101A) on the wood, this one might work for you.
