How do you post images?

I recently took some photos of my 210 planted discus tank, new discus from Kenny Discus and Inland Empire Discus and would like to share them on Simply Discus "planted tanks". I have already sized the images to 85KB or less but don't know how to get them in the threads for others to see.

Okay, here you go. Just make sure you remember where you've put the photos on your PC's hard drive...

Step one - after you've finished writing the text, scroll down....

Until you see the "MANAGE ATTACHMENTS" button. Click on that...

This will bring up a pop-up window. Click on the "BROWSE" button and that will open up another box (showing you a directory). Now go navigate your PC's folders/ directories until you find the file you want.

Click the "OPEN" button. That brings you back to the first pop-up window and the name of the file shows up next to the "BROWSE" button. You can click on the second "BROWSE" button if you want to add another graphic (repeating the steps).

Click the upper "UPLOAD" button (the one closer to the "BROWSE" button). The files will upload and when it's done, you'll see the names listed under "Current Attachments".

Click on the "CLOSE THIS WINDOW" button. That brings you back to the main page and you can post your message with photos by clicking "SUBMIT NEW THREAD". The photos will show up as attached thumbnails at the bottom of your message.

Hope that helps. I'm glad you know how to shrink/ scale the photos down to less than 85k in size!

You can also upload them into photobucket. Photobucket lists links for each picture that you can simply copy and paste into your forum thread. This will result in a bigger picture for instant viewing in your thread as opposed to the smaller thumb nails that require viewing in a separate window. Potobucket also has editing features.

You will have to upload them to a site like Photobucket or YouTube and post links here. The only files that can be uploaded directly to SimplyDiscus are pictures.
