I am setting up a discus only display tank. I want to know what kind of filter you suggest for my tank.
tank dimension: 5feet*2feet*2feet= 150gallon (approx)
I plan to keep around 14-15 grownup discus.

I would like to opt for canister filter.
Since i am not very new to this hobby, i always have quite a few unused accessories with me. Presently I have the following filters lying unused with me:
1. Two Eheim 2217
2. One Eheim 2215
3. One Singapore made good quality Top filter. 1200L/H(runs below stated capacity)
4. Two large Boyu Sponge filters.

May you suggest which combination of filters to use from the above.

The best would be eheim 2080. I would choose filter which has the greatest volume for the filtration.

Since your not new to the hobby, and the filters you listed are adequate, what exactly are you looking for as far as advice? You have plenty of filters to do what you need to do.

I want to know from the filters that i have, which one of them would be sufficient. I don't think all of them are necessary. So which combination among the ones i have will work best for my 150 gallon tank?

The 2 -2217's would be my choice since each one is rated for up to a 159G tank.

I would use one of the 2217's with a prefilter on the intake, along with the two sponge filters. All of my tanks run on a canister along with two sponge filters.

I don't have any of the power filters you mention, but the sponge filters are usually good and easy to clean.:) I would use those in conjunction with a power filter. Always good to have extra filters imo and if the power fails the sponge filters seem to keep the bacteria in good shape longer imo.

The sponge filters are an excellent idea if you want to go with a 150G BB tank. If you want to have substrate and plants, maybe go with the 2 -2217's...I should have stipulated that earlier...Sorry! :(

Even having the 2- 2217's with sponge filters will make things alot easier if your gonna go BB since you already have them. No such thing as over filtration IMO...:)
