I'm building a sump as well and I just bought a mag-drive 9.5. Many places that I have seen use mag-drive. I also have the mag-drive 18 and love it.

alright thanks i bought it today and set up the
tubing
then i did a run from the sump
what great power and i think the noise is not to bad either
next weekend ill fill the tank
cant wait


anyone else use this pump
any noise problems ?

Metfan, nice tank.as far as your sump is concerned you would have a much more effective bio by raising the bio-balls up out if the water. Setting it up as a Trickle Tower makes for better nitrification.

Just build a shelf out of egg crating just above the water line. Adding a peice of foam on top of the bio-balls will give you some mechanical filtration also
