My fish are hungry 24/7 like I never feed them. Even when they are completely full and I know if they ate more, they would explode, they want more. Is this pretty consistent with everyone elses discus? Just curious

Same boat, Im raising 5 juvies in a bb tank right now. I received them at the size of a quarter, They are now HUGE!. They will constantly eat, I was feeding strictly frozen foods but thats a very expensive thing to do. They get bh, bw,and bs and about 2 times a day they get tetra color bits.Keep em well fed and the water well changes and your fish will shock you with their growth rates!.

This "symptom" ( hungry always) descibes healthy discus. Most of mine are like that but from time to time I have had picky eaters. Most of the picky eaters die eventualy. Keep feeding and clean water and you will be surprized at how fast they grow. Don T.

Yep, same here. Fish are always hungry. I have 8 fry growing out, they get fed constantly and they still want more. Probably 7 or 8 feedings a day. I'm amazed at how much and how fast they devour all food given. I was a bit worried at first, thought I might induce bloat but they poop it all out. No problems so far. They are growing fast as well.

My fish act like they're never full no matter how much I feed them.

Whats a humen? Isn't that a measure of light intensity? :D

they should have foods when young as often as they want it. you can force feed you young fish to the point that the food is only partially digested. with major water changes this will produce maximum growth. without water changes, maximum death

I have seen soo many articles says that Discus are very picky and don't eat like Gold fish but I don't think thats right. When ever I go near to the tank evryone come front and stay glued to the front glass untill I feed them. Always ended up feeding them whenever i go near to tanks so its like 7-8 times per day.

goldfish are always eating too but dont over feed. better that the fish are hungry so they forage around the tank.

I would rather spend the time to feed them when their healthy and hungry ,than to spend the time cleaning the food out of the tank when they are sick and not eating.

Maybe that's how the discus react to food as they don't have much else to do :)
