astroturf in discus tank ?

just looking at my BB tank and wondering what other types of substrate i could use beside gravel & sand . is there any reason why peices of that green indoor plasticy grass looking stuff cut to size wouldnt work ? beside it wanting to float do you see any problem with this idea ? & has anybody tried anything like this ? i am thinking it shouldnt be to hard to clean but i have not tried ths yet to know .

I think it would be a pain to clean. If you miss wiping it down daily, it will begin to build film all over it and then really gunk up the tank. Just too much of hassle in my opinion. :o

The Astro Turf will scratch and cut the delicate fins and body of your Discus.

well, your bottom is clear glass. you could put the astro turf under the tank. so it would look like you had a lawn in your tank, but it in fact would be outside.
