Hi folks,
Happy new year and all incoming hollidays!
I just wanna ask one question, have you ever feed your 12month-2 years old discus with common earthworms (Lumbricus terrestris).I am living in Europe so we use it for fishing and I feed some Central American Cichlids with it. I attached pic of it

I havent, but I've read a few posts from people who do. They say to first purge them for a day in a moist paper towel before feeding them.

I fed them. Wait for them to excremate then fed them. I pour boiled water to kill them instantelly and get rid of their slime coat. Then i cut them in pieces and thats it. Good protein rich food, which can be claculated and doesnt stink compared to compost worms, markated as californian worms in europe and america.

Rinse them off, chop them up if they're large and toss them in....I've never hurt a fish feeding them.

The koi don't even get them rinsed off, over the shoulder into the pond.

Now needless to say if you're using insecticides, herbicides or large amounts of fertilizer you probably should use them
