Filter wool

Hi,

How often should you wash/rinse the filter wool? And when should you replace it?

are you talking about a box filter? most filters have sponges.. If your talking about filter filter pad in a wet dry? Not sure what you have but I clean all filters once a month and some I clean once a week. Pre filters get cleaned every day while I do my WC. We don't use the box filter with the angle hair filter wool you loose your cycle when you change wool..

I have a power filter which is placed on top of the aquarium. I guess I had to use the word 'sponge' rather than 'wool'. Wasn't sure what its called.

An HOB filter should be cleaned monthly replace sponge when one falls apart..you should buy a pre filter and clean it when you do a WC.
