I want to do a nice planted discus tank. The tank is a 90 gallon and it's already set up, established and running. It has some rams in it right now along with a few small cardinals and white clouds.

It has sand substrate with no UG filter. Cascade 1000 canister filter with spray bar.

I have some young plants in there, swords, jungle val, etc. They seem to be doing okay so far.

As the plants grow, I'm pretty sure the need for a CO2 system will come. I know NOTHING about it though. Is there a good beginners guide to using co2 anywhere?

Hi Shane gave you some great advise. So much will depend on your lighting but you will find out all about that at the above mentioned sites. HTH Ed

Good luck on your project--unrelated, just wanted to throw in that white clouds [gotta love 'em] don't tolerate warmer water well--they prefer it cooler, unlike the rams and cards which thrive in discus water in the low/mid 80s.
