View Full Version : Update Kenny

02-16-2009, 07:03 PM
Hey Kenny, all. Just wanted to give an update on the Tiger Snakes i ordered i guess now 2 months back in my second order. Over the phone Kenny told me how snakes don't show much pattern when young and it takes a while to fill in. Well, its starting to fill in nice on these fish. :) They keep growing and the pattern comes out more and more each day. The largest one seems to have more of a Red tint to him, its very nice. He is the one pictured in most of these photos. The others have nice blue hues to them.

Thanks again Kenny, i'll let you know how they are doing in a few more months. ;)

Here are some of the White Butterfly Throwbacks from my first shipment from you.

wow.. you made me just regret not getting the tigersnakes.. i was contemplating on them.
kenny, im getting those next!

02-17-2009, 02:27 PM
Thanks all. Credit goes to Kenny and forrest for starting the stock off right. Being so healthy coming in, they make it easy as pie for me to grow them up. ;)

The tigersnakes really are pretty stunning in person, the range of color on each fish is awesome. The white butterfly throwbacks as well. The WB throwbacks keep getting whiter and whiter and are very clean, nice red eyes too. I've always been a sucker for the white strains, and these are very nice whites with just enough of that yellow/orange/pink contrast nicely.

You have some nice fish there Matt. I love the color of the tiger snakes. How big are they?

02-17-2009, 03:28 PM
Wow... this sounds corney but they look so mystical!

Nice selection and nice job!

02-17-2009, 03:38 PM
Wow, beautiful fish and from Kenny, no surprise!! I have a Snakeskin from Kenny too and he's coloring up really nice as he (she?) matures. I love your white butterfly throwbacks too!! Those are just gorgeous!!

Thanks all.

The largest tiger snake is 4.5" i'd say, maybe a bit bigger, the rest in the 4" range.

Good Morning Matt,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post these updates. When I sent those Tiger Snakes to you(along with the Browns can't wait to see them also) their patterns were nowhere close to what you're showing in these pictures. You are doing an excellent job raising these guys my friend! All credits go to you for your tlc's provided to these Tiger Snakes!

Matt though I don't remember every one of the Tiger Snakes exactly, there's one that I still have very good memory of...now to illustrate what I said earlier, here's a pic of your Tiger Snake back in Dec. Take a look at how much patterns it's developed in just 2 months due to your wonderful hard work.:)

Keep up the great work Matt my friend! The WB throwbacks look very nice also!

Eddie, Hendri, Mike(Yes Sir Mike :)), Yasmin, Anna, Scott(Yes Sir also:)), Vince;

Thank You for the nice comments!

Thanks everyone,

Looking at your White Butterfly Throwback makes me jealous. I just can't wait until my WB Throwback gets to be as nice as yours. Looking at them I just want to feed feed feed. LOL Anyways, Good luck with them and keep the pictures coming.

02-19-2009, 10:39 PM
Thanks guys, i really like the butterflies. They are about 5-6" now. More on the 5-5.5" side. Thats just a guesstimate, i never take them out to measure.

Thank you again for the Albino x Wild crosses. IMO they have quite nice form with their red eyes and good shape. The little striation around their fins and forehead make them look quite unique imo.

The WB throwbacks have also grown a lot and "whiten" up quite a bit...they may/may not become fully solid white(hence the word "throwbacks"), but since Forrest has been working with his WB lines for years I think both his WB's/WB throwbacks are beautiful specimens. I especially love their cherry red eyes!

You're doing an excellent job with all of those fish and I thank you for giving them such great care Matt. Keep up the great work my friend and many thanks for the update again!:)

Josh, just be patient with yours since he/she is relatively young...you should see more patterns develop as he/she grows! Thank you Josh.:)

Vince, lol do you have any suggestions my friend?:D

Hendri, thanks for your WB throwbacks order!:D How are they currently doing bro?

Thanks all,

From taking a good look at those WB throwbacks, they just might white over and loose a high percent of their body markings..I think there might be a real good chance they will look real close to a normal WB marking..I love them either way. Come to think of it, one of the two males (I mean 1 OF 2 ,stressing 2, right Kenny) is a WB throwback. Looks like a beautiful WB,but only has a few spots on the stomach region only..Problably what is going to happen to these..Love them no matter what. Best of luck with them.

I think its going to vary by fish. I have one thats very White Scorpion like, another has a lot more white and then one is in the middle.

This is the one with the most white. What i believe to be a female, its always getting into a scuffle with the other proven female.

Heres the proven female. Love the shape and "reagalness" of her, thats why i take so many pics of her. ;) Shes cleaning the pot in the tank right now actually.

02-22-2009, 10:55 PM
Stunning white butterfly throwbacks! IMO the unique combination of white coverage and orange striations makes them even more beatiful than the conventional butterflies :D

02-22-2009, 11:09 PM
That female is super beautiful. Love to have her!

Best of luck with your beauty's.

02-23-2009, 12:43 PM
They look amazing Matt. My litlle one is already starting to get a little white around its face. Its going to be fun to watch it grow into something so great. Good Luck with the female.

02-23-2009, 06:35 PM
Wow good luck Matt, please keep up date I like to see the fry:D:D:D

Got some more for you to feast your eyes on! Did a nice big water change yesterday and withen hours the fish were looking simply amazing, so i took some shots. Most if not all of these were taken without the flash. No color touch ups what so ever, what you see is what you get. I am very excited about these wild crosses, they are looking awesome.

First is a little blurry.

With flash

Tiger SS. I like the pattern on this one. Got the thick tiger striations up top then its almost a perfect fineline/straight snake pattern below. Then back to the larger more crazy striations.

WB Throwback pair dancing to each other. Female left, male right.

This is what made me take the pictures. This is without a flash just looking at the tank as is. Look how bright this guy is. Also in the picture is some tiger snakes and a small turq from a friend i am nursing back to health. He's a bit thin.

03-03-2009, 05:31 PM
That third tiger snakeskin is just awsome. I find its body shape and pattern especially pleasing. Awsome fish! mike

Thanks mike. Can't get enough of the Tiger Snakes.
