I want to make sure I am on the right track. My plan is to purchase 12 juvies approximately 2-3 inches. Raise them in a 55 gallon BB tank until they reach 4-4.5 inches than transfer them into a 125 BB to finish off their growing cycle. My concerns are in the 55 gallon tank, will 12 juvies be too many that it will stunt their growth and is the 4-4.5 size the right time to transplant them or should I do it sooner? Planning to do a least a 50 % daily water change and higher percentage if need… Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks
Jerry

I'd go straight into the 125, more room for them to grow faster. I think in the 55 you will be too crowded and more fish will fall behind in growth. The 125 will give lots of room to put food in different areas if there is a few aggressive eaters.

I agree with Eddie. After talking to him, convinced me to go bare bottom and I will be putting my 12 juvies in my 125. By the way what kind are you getting?
