hello

im new to this hobby, i just set up my 20 gallon long tank with 1 convict cichlid. my question is do they need brackish water?i heard that they cichlid need brackish water. if yes, what will happen if you dont give them brackish water? my 2nd question is for the visi-therm deluxe heater. when i plug the heater the light indicator goes on then after a while it will go out. is this normal?

thank you

The heater seems fine. If it reaches the temp you have it set at, it will turn off.

78F does feel cold to the touch. Do you not have a thermometer?

last question with the visi-therm heater. does this heater comes with thermometer? because there are two color of meters 1 is light red which is for the thermostat and the other one is red. is that the thermometer? or just design?

Just design so you know where you've set the heater.

I use cheap $1 thermometers from any LFS. They work great.
