The other thing you might want to look into is that goldfish are cold water fish and won't do well in discus temps.

I hate to say it, but I hope this is a joke...

Platies and goldfish in a WAY overstocked and too small Discus tank. :(

Hope you have a 300+ gallon tank lined up for your arrowana.

this just looks way too over-crowded. what are your water parameters?

Hi - I think you have nice discus, but the conditions you are keeping them are very damaging to their health and wellbeing.

Why exactly are you using a 41 Gallon? Are monetary issues preventing you from getting a larger tank setup? If so, check out craig's list. I got an entire 55 gallon setup including tank, lights, hood, stand, fluval filter for $120. I have no complaints whatsoever and saved so much $$$$.

Maybe you can look into getting a similar setup, but maybe a 75gallon for all of your discus and smaller fish.

I think you should sell your arawana. You were already pushing it by cramming all those discus in there. I understand you probably love your arawana, but if I bought every fish I liked and threw it in my tank I would be unethical and cruel. I totally understand your temptation - I am constantly having to put forth strong constraint whenever I see a drop dead gorgeous discus, or a green amazonian puffer fish, or a school of cardinals. I LOVE these fishies - but I don't add them to my tank because then my tank would be over stocked.

Your filter does NOT substitute for tank space.

I dont understand why you are doing this?

If I am looking at this right you have 14 discus in that 41 gallon? IMO it looks like you would need a lot more filtration. I agree with everyone else you need a bigger tank just for the discus and smaller fish. 14 discus plus all the other fish in a 41 gallon is crazy. I only have 15 in a 150 gallon with a good bit of filtration. Do you have any plans on getting a bigger tank any time soon?

ya getting a 200 gallon tank by the end of this week, gonna give them more space to flourish ;)

Better hurry, the fish may be too far stunted to reverse the slow growth from over crowding.

Give us some pictures of your 200 gallon once you get it set up. I would love to see that as would a lot of other members.
