Hello,

I've been away for awhile as I have been running Saltwater for the last 4-5 years. Been considering going back to discus. Is there any concerns about using a tank that has been saltwater for discus. Also is Bare Bottom and sponge filter still the way to go when raising juvies?

Nope. None at all. I converted my 300 gallon display and 60 gallon refugium for discus. The hardest part was getting all the coralline algae off of the glass. Usually a water and vinegar mixture does the trick.

I use the 60 gallon as a grow out tank. Bare bottom, sponge filter and 75-100% W/C daily.That and heavy feeding will grow the juvies out real nice;)
