I am not sure where you getting pure ammonia at ace hardware stores...

I checked 2 different Ace store in the city today and they all have 10% Amonia Hydroxide in it...

So are ya`ll sure its 100% PURE ammonia?

I would just like to get the straight scoop on this ammonia from ace...

Any others have any other kinds of stores carry this stuff?

Thanks...

Daniel

Ace hardware ammonia is only ammonia hydroxide and water, it has no other additives like detergents. It worked great for me.

That's what you want. NOT 100% pure, but "clear", without any other additives.

As Dan is watching 24 right now I'll do my best to explain. :D This is used to cycle new sponges/tanks. Adding ammonia directly to the water will help the water and the filtration cycle. You have to test the water daily and make sure that the ammonia is at 4 - 5 PPM.

"The key is to keep the PH around 7.8 and the Ammonia reading around 4-5 PPM....For me a dark green. I check it every day if it stays green then do not add any more ammonia...once it turns yellow add another few drops...For me it is a cap full for 50 -75 gallons...for you it will be drops because you are using the bucket...do not go over 5 PPM because the filter will not cycle with ammonia this high."
