I picked up the babies at fedex this morning!:D

Thanks again Al, Kenny, Forrest, Ryan and all the SD folks out there!!:):) It's really an honor to be able to participate in this challenge.

We're just a couple hours into it and everything looks great with the little guy's. I threw a little cube of hikari fbw and at least a couple are eating already. Here's some pics for ya. And I'll post more as the day goes on.

looking great Steve. there are so many different variations on how you guys/gals plan to approach this years contest that it's going to be hard not to follow it. i'm particularly interested in your WC setup and want to see how that will work out for you. automated is IMO something that would greatly help our hobby. The only thing that i think hinders our automated WC's is that they do not siphon off of the floor which yours seems to do. this and that fact that you have some great fish to start with (Kenny/Forrest, Al/Ryan big props) will make it a great contest. good luck my friend and to all of you other contestants!

Steve,

Looking great man! Best of luck to you. Kick butt. So, what process did you use to get the fish in the tank? Float for a bit and then just move them over?

Yeah, I just floated them for a while and plopped 'em in there.

I'm looking forward to seeing yours safely tucked away.:)

They look so nice. I love how they look like they have the mood bars sort of in the reverse colour to what I'd normally expect to see. Does that sound weird - hope you get what I mean

05-20-2009, 02:17 PM
yeah, I like how they have the "reverse mood bars" too, I get ya. my albino spotteds have the same, they are real similar. I love my little albino spotteds, they really grow on you big time!

TankWatcher

none of my albinos have mood bars. Now I've seen these, I wish, I wish, I wish, I had albinos with reverse mood bars.

All the best Steve

Little offtopic if i may, Steve o in which band do you play'

The band is Dublin Death Patrol. It's kind of a metal all star band with guy's from Testament, Exodus, Machine Head, Tesla among others. We all grew up in the same little town, Dublin Cali.

I see ya went with the black ground...:D

I was kinda disapointed in the condition of the tank once I got it cleaned up. There are some heavy scratches all around and white paint on the back that I tried to scrape off unsuccessfully so yeah, I used the black background but it really dosen't look that great. Oh well. Shouldn't hurt their growth rate.;)

Cooldadddyfunk286
05-23-2009, 12:36 PM
I hear ya man, I tried using contact paper on my first tank and it came out craaappppy. air bubbles all over. wasnt too happy. BUT...the fish havnt been happier;):D
