The suspense has been building for days. Made it to the airport in record time this morning and met the contest discus as soon as FedEx opened.
By the time I got the discus home the suspense was really building.
Opened the box and the packaging was perfect, no leaks, great.

As much as I wanted to just open bags and check out the new babies I took the time to float them to match their temperature. Now the suspense is getting too much.

Could have let them float for a minute or so more but.....
Got out a pair of scissors, cut the top of a bag off, reached in and gently slipped each one in the tank one by one. Relief.....every one looked healthy and absolutely beautiful.

Thank you Al for all you have done to get these discus here. Thank you Kenny and Forrest for these beautiful discus.

Now I am going to go back to the tank and just admire for a while. I am happy. :):):)

Steve-O & Evelyn, thanks for the compliments but just lucky shots. Nice discus and a decent camera, all I do is push that shiny button on top of the camera. Some day I will have to read that manual that came with the camera. :D

All right Bill. I get mine Thursday and can't wait! Good luck with your fish.

Kirk

I'll ask you the same I asked Steve. What was your process before dumping them in the tank?

Hi Kirk

I took the six bags out of the box and placed them in the tank to get the water in the bags up to the tank temperature. I rushed this because I was so anxious.
While the bags were in the tank I washed my hands. Then one by one, pulled each bag out of the tank cut the top off with scissors, reached in the bag, grabbed the discus and slowly placed it in the tank. Once the top of the bag is opened I like to get the discus out of the bag as quick as I can but place the discus in the tank easy so it is calm going into the tank. Doesn't seem to bother them at all. I have had ammonia burns by dripping them but not had problems doing it this way yet. Have fun with the new discus, I'll have to check your page when you get them.
