I set up a new 125 gallon display tank in the dining room. I need an air pump that can drive two 6 or 8-inch air stones. I have one now, but you can hear the vibration, drives me crazy.

Does anybody know of a REALLY quiet air pump that will meet my needs?

Thanks!:)

I just got a Whisper AP150. It is the quietest air pump I have ever had, and there have been dozens. I run 2 of the large sponge filters with it, air to spare. I have it sitting on a small folded towel on top of my tank, behind the light fixture and never even hear it at all. Last week PetSmart had them on sale for $30, reg. about 50.

Fusion Air pumps are good pretty dead silent and not too expensive.

I have a rena air pump. I have it placed on a flat surface inside the stand and I can't hear it.

I agree on the Fusion. By far the quietest of any pump I've ever owned.

If price isn't a real concern go with a piston pump. They are much quieter than anything I have seen.

Of course this is an overkill for any one tank...

:D I agree 'bout the LPH 26 pump, I have it & love it, but run 6-10 tanks with it...too much for just 1...just my $.02.... lol
Haven't heard 'bout the Fusion pumps, they sound terrific, I'll keep'm in mind too.....
