Another week down and all's well. Nothing at all has changed with my routine. It seems the fish that were a little slow to start are catching up fast. I'm a couple weeks away from making a new seafood mix and may ask for a consensus on what their favorite is.

My daily routine:

6:00 lights on
7:00 feed beefheart/seafood mix
9:00 feed fbw
11:00 feed tetra color granules
12:00 50% w/c/
1:00 feed on prime reef flake
3:00 feed tetra color granules
5:00 feed on prime reef flake
7:00 feed beefheart/seafood mix
9:00 90% w/c/
10:00 feed fbw
11:00 lights out (goodnight):D

Throughout the day as I'm around the tank I'll throw some more mix or fbw probably 3 times a day as well. Just before the evening w/c, I'll check and there will be trace amounts of ammonia. I don't think it's enough to worry about.

That's about it. Enjoy the pics!

Hey Steve,

I've just got to ask how you can keep a schedule like that? Mind if I ask if you're retired? Fish are looking great. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, mostly retired but a lot of it is automation. All the dried foods are on autofeeders and the water changes are almost fully automated.

Keeping up with the discus' schedule is piece of cake compared to training this bird that is sitting on my fist right now as I type and is fighting me tooth and nail about the hood.

Hey Steve, they look great.....really great. Is the last picture your biggest ?
He just looks huge, eye/body, and really round. Really nice looking discus.

I just mix 50/50 beefheart / shrimp. Whatever your mix is I wouldn't change it. looks like it's working awesome on those fish.
Take care,

Bill

Hi Steve,

Wonderful work my friend! I love all your updated pics but especially the group shot, it shows their consistency really well. Keep up the great work and with the way every contestant is raising their fish I think we might have to come up with 9 prizes this year lol!:)

Definately the FBW. Tetra color bits is a close second. They pick apart at the mix for awhile but eventually eat it all, that's the only reason I'm considering altering the recipe for the next batch.
