You can use the krylon spray but I would not spray on a tank that is set up already (with or without discus in).

Your other option is to to use a brush or the better solution is to use insulation foam. Paint the insulation foam the color you want and attach them to the tank.

I had a feeling that would be the case. I didnt know if there was any harmless paint out there.

I can't use foam as my Daughter thinks its for her to pick at. :)

Thanks Van

I have painted a few tanks over the past few months and Krylon True Blue is by far my favorite.

Here is what it looks like on the tank,

I like that blue Jerry. I use Krylon indoor/outdoor paint as well straight onto the outside glass. My favorite color is the Blue Ocean Breeze. Darkens up a little once water gets in the tank to the naked eye. I painted all of my tanks because i liked it so much. For less then $5 a can at Wal-Mart, its hard to beat. I'll never again use a paper type background. I would echo the others though and paint it without fish and without water, and give it enough time to dry.

Hope you don't mind me sharing some pictures of mine that show off my Blue Ocean Breeze paint.
