I want to paint the back of my tank. What colour is best Blue? and what paint should i use? I will be painting it either with the Discus in or out but they will have to go back in the tank pretty quick

You can use the krylon spray but I would not spray on a tank that is set up already (with or without discus in).
Your other option is to to use a brush or the better solution is to use insulation foam. Paint the insulation foam the color you want and attach them to the tank.

I had a feeling that would be the case. I didnt know if there was any harmless paint out there.
I can't use foam as my Daughter thinks its for her to pick at. :)

I have painted a few tanks over the past few months and Krylon True Blue is by far my favorite.

I like that blue Jerry. I use Krylon indoor/outdoor paint as well straight onto the outside glass. My favorite color is the Blue Ocean Breeze. Darkens up a little once water gets in the tank to the naked eye. I painted all of my tanks because i liked it so much. For less then $5 a can at Wal-Mart, its hard to beat. I'll never again use a paper type background. I would echo the others though and paint it without fish and without water, and give it enough time to dry.
